City Gates

Between the guard towers are the City Gates, an impressive feat of wrought iron surrounded by an otherwise stone structure. Fairly thin and seemingly flimsy, the Gate seems to be purely decorative, the bars entwined with large faux-vines and leaves. When they are closed, the central motif of the Eye of Alioe can be seen.
If one were to look closely, one might see the remnants of the ancient stone hinges of the previous gate, bygones from the time when humans ruled the city. From the looks of it, the old gate might have been made of the same material as the wall; the sight invokes images of something very strong and powerful. Although the stone has been smoothed over from centuries of use, it is clear that the old stone doors were forcibly removed. It is a subtle reminder of the power of the galdori.
