The Anaxi Armed Forces is Anaxas' standing army. Currently inactive, it is led by the galdori General Tritus Embruglia. 75% of the forces are humans who have been drafted into service, but since there are no wars on currently, the draft has been suspended and most of the human soldiers have been sent home.

The AAF was once a very large army, but in recent years very few troops are currently abroad. The few remaining active regiments are stationed in Mugroba and Hesse. The troops in Mugroba have been mobilized to deal with piracy, organized crime, and the strange rumors of a plague destroying entire isolated towns in the desert. Those in Hesse are purportedly helping the Hessean government withstand attacks along their borders from pirates and mercenaries intent on stealing abandoned Hessean farmland. Both standing armies are beginning to wear on the patience of the government, but in the interest of keeping their relationship with Anaxas healthy, both kingdoms have not complained formally about the regiments. It is not technically an occupation; the Anaxi government sees it more like a steady hand on the shoulder of Anaxas' neighboring kingdoms.

The last war that the army fought was a relatively small-scale war in 2655. It is written in the history books as the Sky War; the combatants were the AAF and a group of renegade galdori from Hesse who decided to overthrow the Anaxi government on their own. The war was notable for being the first to be fought with the use of aeroships. Anaxas suffered very little from the war, and the rebellion was soon shot down by the conservative half of the Hessean government.

In recent years, the army is being put to good use by being deployed to aid in relief efforts and bring modern medicine to the poorer regions of Mugroba. These efforts of the AAF have greatly improved Anaxas' standing with Mugroba as well as the rest of the Symvouli.
