The Cloister

Deep within the walls of the Church of the Moon, the Cloister is a strikingly secular area. Students gather here to practice spells and work together on their assignments; sometimes, they simply relax on the well-kept grass or lounge in the shade of the fan-vaulted range that encloses most of the courtyard. Occasionally a passel of the Everine will wander by, and perhaps be shocked by the language of today's youth, but mostly it is a place where students can practice safely and be themselves.
A proctor, usually a trained professional, is generally on call while students are experimenting with spell-work. As the Cloister's architecture is protected by an Everspell, the safety of the surroundings lets students feel at ease and willing to take chances - a far better environment for learning than the Field of Practical Application, where more than one unwitting galdor has lost an ear or an eyebrow.
