Mugrobi Religion

The Mugrobi people as a whole consider themselves more spiritual than religious. Though they are devout in their worship of their patron god, Hulali, the Mugrobi incorporate their worship into their everyday lives. Rather than a strict religious structure with churches and clergy, the Mugrobi have learned to praise Hulali, and the other gods if they choose, in their own unique, personal ways.

That is not to say that there are not devout or zealous Mugrobi, just that the majority celebrate their faith with little gestures. The Mugrobi believe that Hulali brought them water in the desert and saved them, and they return the favour by including water or water-based plants in many of their daily rituals.

Important Religious Ceremonies

Haras'turga

The Pouring of the Turga. Symbolic pouring of water into the dirt, while praying to Hulali for abundance and continued guidance. All civic activities pause for this, and it can last up to fifteen minutes. The prayers are often personal and differ heavily in their wording, though the sentiment is universal. Not all Mugrobi participate in the haras'turga, though. Some, who have developed their own personal and unique ceremonies, prefer to practice their faith in private, which is seen with the same honour as the haras'turga.

Turgamrhit

A festival of bounty performed on the first day of the rainy season, honouring the flooding of the rivers that bring the Mugrobi life. Celebrated from 15 Roalis through 1 Yaris, Turgamrhit is a series of celebrations that honour Hulali's abundance in the Kingdom. For the details of the celebration, see the Culture section.

Religious Organizations

Information on religious organizations can be found in the Organizations section of the Lore. Please see the Cast of Characters for religion-focused NPCs in the Kingdom of Mugroba.
