Bastia's main police force, also called the Caras. Named after the Caramiades, vine-like plants that grow strong and dense, are usually found in/around abandoned structures, and are virtually impenetrable and irremovable once they take root. They are headquartered in Florne, but have a large presence in every city, and are also responsible for maintaining order on Florne’s roads. They do not, however, cover crimes committed in any of Hurte’s temples, or by any of the Archevne, who are policed internally. There is also a human police force under the auspices of the Caramiada, known as the Des.
