Weather in the Kingdoms
Please note that while weather is currently only calculated for the Kingdoms of Anaxas and Bastia, each of the other Six Kingdoms has their temperature and weather variances listed below.
Please note that the temperatures are in °Fahrenheit instead of °Celsius.
Kingdoms of Anaxas and Bastia
Where the rainy season of last year was mild, this year’s Loshis in the Sister Kingdoms opens on a note of torrential rain; perhaps even the weather knows these are unsettled times for Anaxas. The pattern continues, with heavy rainfall throughout the month broken only by a few sunny days. Temperatures are cool but warming.
The last two weeks are marked by aggressive thunderstorms. The 36-38th sees one that causes substantial damage in Vienda: several businesses in the Dives are wrecked, and part of the Lord Chancellor’s Uptown home is destroyed by a falling tree while he is abroad.
Loshis inaugurates Mugroba as the Symvoul, or the seat of the Six Kingdoms’ politics. Politicians — and students, and academics — from all kingdoms, including Anaxas, flock to Thul Ka, leaving Vienda and Brunnhold sparse.
The Feast Of St. Grumble takes place the first ten days of Loshis. In Anaxas, scattered spoke tribes celebrate Binze, rumored to be the remnant of an old Anhai holiday. Small pockets of tsat in the major cities participate, celebrating storytelling with words and art.
Kingdom of Hesse
Hesse warms up more quickly than Anaxas and Bastia, with temperatures roughly 3-5° above that of the Sister Kingdoms’. The Hessean lowlands turn marshy this time of year, with the roads muddy and difficult to traverse. Hesse continues to struggle with trade.
Kingdom of Hox
As usual, Hox sees temperatures 15-20° cooler than the sister kingdoms’. Hox still isn’t even close to its thaw, despite the rainfall elsewhere. On Loshis 40, Hox celebrates Spar Rhavat, the largest and most unifying holiday in the northern kingdom.
Kingdom of Gior
Gior's high altitudes mean that temperatures stay about 10-15° cooler in the mountains and about 3-5° warmer in the vales than the average temperatures in the Kingdom of Anaxas. The thaw has begun in Gior: the water level is rising in the valleys, and the lowlands begin to sprout verdant, even if the mountains are still experiencing some snow and ice.
Kingdom of Mugroba
Temperatures remain roughly 20-30° warmer than the Sister Kingdoms’. In Mugroba, the Rainy Season is known as the Flood Season. The floods are at their height along the Turga during Loshis, causing mudslides and travel difficulties, despite Flood Season's place in Mugrobi culture as a time for celebration.
