Weather in the Kingdoms
Please note that while weather is currently only calculated for the Kingdoms of Anaxas and Bastia, each of the other Six Kingdoms has their temperature and weather variances listed below.
Please note that the temperatures are in °Fahrenheit instead of °Celsius.
Kingdoms of Anaxas and Bastia
By Vortas, autumn is in full swing in Anaxas and Bastia. Temperatures are lower, mostly in the 30s fahrenheit but often dipping below freezing at night. The leaves have turned, and by mid-Vortas, most of them have fallen, leaving bare branches. Northeastern Bastia is beginning to see winter temperatures, and even southern Anaxas sees scattered snowfall in the last two weeks of the month, harbinging a winter cold as last year’s.
Auspiciously, on the 10-12th of Vortas, Benea and Osa are both full on crisp, clear days.
Vortas 15th-25th - Autumn Break is the last break before Winter Break at the schools across Vita, and this week-long break is usually spent preparing for graduation on campus and/or making final arrangements among students for their degrees.
Vortas 35-40 - Graduation. For five days, there are various graduations of each of the different schools and courses of studies, spread out among special ceremonies.
Weather in the Kingdom of Hesse and Mugroba
Given the wind patterns, Hesse takes the brunt of the outfall of Mugroba’s weather, winds from the east washing over the Tinca Bastia and pushing the chilled night weather down into the barrens. On the 18th of Vortas, the country experiences a sudden snap chill, and breeding stocks of teacup drakes are wiped out. In the mines of the east, a lightning storm that blows in from Mugroba on the 37th causes a cave-in, and a number of workers are trapped deep within the mining complex.
Weather in the Kingdom of Hox
In Hox, the tell tale signs of a long, harsh winter are in full swing. Some of the higher mountain towns are already closed off, and snow-in’s are a common occurrence. There is a particularly concerning growth of lichen in the grain storage of Dromboth, an already catastrophic event for the struggling human town. This season temperatures drop into frigid levels, dry and biting.
Weather in the Kingdom of Gior
In Gior, the first weeks are hard on the upper lands, the chill coming down from Anaxas bringing early snows to the countryside. Qrieth experiences the beginning of its winter storms, and starts to put out warnings of an early passage closure to the mountain, with wet snowfall icing over the pathways. Lower Gior continues to battle with unseasonable rainfall, and Omn-Lie’s salt mines are put at considerable risk of damage.
Weather in the Kingdom of Mugroba
Mugroba continue to bear their rather predictable weather, though on the 22nd of Vortas, Mugroba experiences the worst sandstorm it has seen since 2710. The impact to the nomadic tribes is significant, and spice crops are detrimentally damaged. Violent lighting storms and freezing night times make this autumn a particularly dangerous one.
Vortas 20th-30th The Fast of Akarra Haia - The Fast of Akarra Haia takes place in the third week of Vortas. All those who are able to survive a fast do so for eight days (with 1-day breaks every four days). The days are spent in consideration of need and appreciation for that which they have. On the last day, families use resources saved during the fast and create a feast. All are welcome at the feast, even those that were unable to fast. Despite the quantity of food used for the feast, it is rarely more than what was conserved during the week, thus conserving resources.
