Painted Ladies

Painted Ladies is a famous housing district in Vienda. Many humans and wicks live in the narrow houses and apartments, each of which are painted different colors for easy distinction. Blues, greens, pinks, reds, yellows, and purples are all present, making the slightly hilled district stand out from the blackened Dives like a patch of flowers.
Up close, the houses are somewhat less impressive. Most of the paint jobs have fallen into disrepair, peeling or cracking, stained from the soot; the flowers in the window boxes are drooping. However, the neighborhood is incredibly clean; the streets are routinely swept, and the porch stoops are neat and tidy, unlike many neighborhoods in the Dives. The cats here are, for the most part, well-fed and free from diseases. This seems to be a respectable area; it has an air of quiet dignity.
