Below you will find the Weather Almanac for Ophus 2718 across all of Vita. In the far north like the Kingdom of Hox and the high elevations of Gior to the south, this month finds those kingdoms nestled in deep snow and ice, freezing weather, and strong winds.
Anaxas and Bastia are mild in comparison to Hesse, though all three kingdoms see snow again this month. Hesse in Ophus is ravaged by harsh winds and ice storms. Mugroba begins to slowly warm again, and although nights are still freezing, Ophus is a time that the desert sees a bit of rain.

KINGDOM of ANAXAS
Ophus in Anaxas is very cold and windy. Lakes and ponds freeze over and the slower rivers flow beneath a coating of ice. Parts of the Arova, especially in Vienda, freeze over as well. Ice skating is a popular past time this month, especially in Brunnhold where it is Winter Break. This is the darkest month of the year but also the best month for observing the heavens because of the crisp, clear night skies.
The beginning of Ophus in 2718 sees a very rare cold wave that brings extremely cold temperatures. While most galdori are safe and warm in their homes, the dangerously frigid temperatures cause many issues for the tribal wicks in the Northern Tors who suffer greatly with loss of life and livestock. The poor in the Dives of Vienda and as far as Old Rose Harbor also feel the harsh effects of the weather, where a staggering number of deaths occur, illness runs rampant, and several fires break out in the desperation to keep warm.
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year and it occurs this year on the Tenth of Ophus. This year, the Solstice is viewed as somewhat inauspicious for the year because of the darkness of the two new moons on the Seventh of Ophus—another unlucky day according to many wicks and superstitious humans. The Solstice is celebrated by all races, however, usually with a feast and the lighting of candles and lanterns. In Vienda and Brunnhold, magical light shows are a huge part of the Solistice celebration.
Ophus 2718 is considered one of the coldest months in decades, and a second double new moon on the Thirty-Eighth of Ophus closes out the year in darkness.
