The Observatory is the tallest building in Brunnhold, and is used to study the Vitan world's astronomy and climate.
Description
The towering Observatory is the pride of Brunnhold, and with good reason. Its beautiful architecture allude to prosperous times, exuberance for knowledge, and the quiet dignity that defines the University.
Inside, the stairs that wind around the circular walls are ornately cast in wrought iron, which gleam with a patina from generations of students and professors ascending them. Once at the top, one can see the huge retractable dome ceiling in the soft light of phosphor lanterns, patterned with gold leaf and engraving.
A golden telescope, however, dominates the scene. It is massive and majestic, reaching almost to the ceiling while fully retracted, with many viewing ports and a tangled array of cogs and levers which control its movement. Apart from the large machinery, many empirical devices are piled on mahogany tables. On one side of the room, a small darkroom allows for the development of camera spectra pictures taken from the telescope.
The entire scene is a testament to Brunnhold's passion for knowledge and discovery.
