Kingdoms of Anaxas and Bastia
The chill of spring lingers in the beginning of the Rainy Season this year, keeping temperatures lower than average and quickly drenching all of the Midlands with rain. Rivers swell and streams overflow this year, and many towns and cities suffer from more flooding than is usually planned for, perhaps simply because everyone is still recovering from a harsh winter.
While the Rainy season is aptly named, many of the showers are not actually all-day deluges. This is the season where plants blossom and bloom, when crops are planted, and when life begins to prepare for summer and the dry season to follow. Some rainy days are only an hour or a house, as indicated by light rain or party cloudy days. Days with heavy rain indicate an all day rain that lasts often through the night and into the next day.
The Spring Equinox of Loshis 17th is hidden behind clouds, and even the month's auspicious days of both Benea and Osa being full twice (once in the beginning of Loshis and again at the end) are hidden behind the season's typical wet weather.
Kingdom of Hesse
Much of the lowlands of Hesse become practical marshes this time of year and while the Kingdom sees temperatures an average of 3-5° warmer than Bastia and Anaxas, this year sees more of a similar lingering cold. Floods along the coast of Hesse are severe this year, disrupting trade.
Kingdom of Hox
Unlike the rest of the Six Kingdoms, Hox is still locked in ice and snow. The weather, instead of being wet, begins to clear and by Spar Rhavat on Loshis 40th, the largest celebration of the Kingdom is celebrated beneath the stars just as it should be. The great thaw and temperatures above freezing aren't even felt until mid-Hamis.
Kingdom of Gior
Gior's high altitudes mean that temperatures stay about 10-15° cooler in the mountains and about 3-5° warmer in the vales than the average temperatures in the Kingdom of Anaxas. The Rainy Season in Gior means that the valleys flood and rivers and streams thaw, life beginning to bloom and blossom in the sunny places of the rocky landscape.
Kingdom of Mugroba
Rainy Season in Mugroba is actually called Flood Season, and it is perhaps the most important season in the desert Kingdom. An abundance of rain falls all across the dry landscape in Loshis and as Hox to the north begins to thaw, water flows through the steppes. The Turga and her sisters flood their banks by the end of Loshis, overflowing and dredging up the rich soil below to wash it over the farmlands that have established themselves along the life-giving veins of the desert. Temperatures finally climb into the dizzying heat everyone is normally used to and planting season is celebrated all across the Kingdom in Hamis.
