Isla Kura

Known to natives as Kura'kohotabina (or simply Isla Kura), this tropical atoll is remote and completely uncharted. Though it is a nest egg of valuable resources such as rare minerals and plants, the people of the Muluku Islands avoid it, believing the island to be cursed by Hulali.
Geography:
Isla Kura is an atoll, encompassing a vast lagoon known as Lago'lehota. The island is replete with deep mineral caves, the inner surfaces of which are covered in criss-crossing crystals; the unusual molecular makeup of these crystals cause them to grow very large, sometimes over a hundred feet long.
Being uncharted by civilized peoples, it is difficult to find. It remained undiscovered by the civilized world until notorious pirate Briny Joe Billows discovered it while wandering aimlessly in the Austan Ocean.
Climate:
Isla Kura is hot at all times during the year, even the winter months, warmed by the Aulus (a gentle, warm, humid wind that filters into Mugroba from the southeastern sea).

According to all reliable sources, Isla Kura is uninhabited.
Legend:
Isla Kura, according to the natives, is cursed by the god Hulali. The island is situated at a crossing of two currents (the Depthesda and the Tempa), causing the eastern side of the island to experience intermittent heavy storms, with waves hundreds of feet high, and other strange meteorological events.
According to legend, no civilization has ever survived on the remote island. The sand of the beaches is said to be composed of the crushed bones of thousands of unfortunate colonists.
Another strange facet of the island is that the lagoon, the Lago'lehota, is seemingly bottomless. A deep gorge in the ocean floor can be seen through the stunningly clear water. Strange creatures are rumored to lurk in the abysmal depths.
