Description

Growth spells are those centered around creating or replicating living tissue, such as skin or plant tissue. These spells are used to heal wounds, regrow limbs, graft together entities, and even grow new entities from piece of old ones.

Elementary

At this level, Living Mages can encourage flesh wounds to heal closed, can repair minor damages to animals and can even regrow minor limbs like fingers or toes with repeated use. This is taxing for the Elementary Mage, but not impossible at this level. Special care must be taken to learn the difference between Plant, Animal and Humanoid when dealing with Growth Spells, and Elementary Mages are often taught to choose one to focus on at a time.

Intermediate

Intermediate Mages find the healing of surface wounds to be easy, instead moving on to focus on more serious wounds. They can begin replicating the tissue to internal organs, provided they have the anatomical knowledge necessary, as well as can begin to regrow larger limbs such as an arm or a leg. A head may never be regrown, as one cannot regrow from death. At this level, the Living Mage may begin to graft two entities together, provided they are of the same Category (Plant, Animal, etc.) They cannot create new functions for these entities at this level.

Advanced

It is said that Advanced Growth Mages are some of the most frightening Living Conversationists. Mortal blows to them are minor, assuming they can focus and close the wound before death. They have no problems grafting two things together, even able to merge different Categories with their knowledge. It is not unusual to see an Advanced Growth Mage with bark covering some of their body, or leaves growing from their heads (especially popular in Hox). When it comes to cellular and tissue growth, these mages are unparalleled in the world.

After Effects

Growth after effects are generally weaker mirrors to the types of specific spells being cast—a sorcerer may find that their hair or nails grow faster for a week or that their skin seems more rejuvenated than usual. Working with plants often leaves a taste in the mouth that is similar to the species being worked with, though no one has ever been poisoned or made ill by such a lingering flavor, even when working with poisonous plants.

Long term use of Growth spells may make some accelerated growth in the caster feel almost permanent, as the Living mona continues to grow tissue or revitalize the body. Many experienced Living mages look younger than their counterparts, but that doesn't mean their bodies function any better despite their outward appearances.
