Kingdoms Of Anaxas And Bastia
Winter follows quickly on the heels of an already quite chilly Vortas, with cold winds and a bit of rainfall before the snow sets in at the very end of the month. Some of the windy storms are strong enough to cause damage to homes and businesses as well as trade in the Sister Kingdoms, though nothing is too severe.
Achtus 13th is The Remembrance in the Kingdom of Anaxas, a day celebrated by freedom fighters in quiet solidarity with the death of Claude Oreau, who was killed in the Rookwen Massacre of 2705, an event that is said to be the true beginning of the Resistance. Galdori do not sanction this holiday, however, and those caught participating are often arrested on sight.
Kingdom Of Hesse
The beginning of winter is very soggy and bitter cold in Hesse, the rocky plains of the Kingdom icy and whipped with stronger winds than even Anaxas and Bastia. Migration between mines and some trade is very disrupted early on in the winter, spelling trouble for food supplies along the mining routes until the thaw of Bethas.
Kingdom of Hox
Already buried deep in winter, Hox weathers Achtus much the same as it did Dentis and Vortas—with steadiness. Achtus sees the northern auroras in the night sky (and the sun doesn't rise for more than a house each day, anyway), sothose that can travel to the observatory in Montack safely enjoy spectacular views.
Kingdom of Gior
Snow quickly coats the Kingdom of Gior with the high altitudes favored by the galdori already white at the end of Vortas. The valleys are quickly padded with thick layers of white, and the winds that whip through the kingdoms to the east create a deadly cold Achtus for those not nestled safely inside the mountains themselves.
Kingdom of Mugroba
Achtus brings much-needed moisture and a bit of relief in the form of chilly nights to the desert Kingdom. A bountiful flood season means the last of the year's harvest is still being gathered in the first month of winter, but no one is complaining about Hulali's generosity during the feast of Ku Ossa in early Achtus. The celebration of love, life and fertility sees many marriages in the White City, and the dances are particularly beautiful in the sprinkling of winter rain that graces Mugroba.
